A WOMAN has been taken to hospital suffering from burns and smoke inhalation during a kitchen fire in a Suffolk village. Firefighters from Sudbury and Halstead were called to the property in Bures, near Sudbury, shortly before 8pm on Saturday.

Firefighters from Sudbury and Halstead were called to the property in Bures, near Sudbury, shortly before 8pm on Saturday.

Breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet were used and the fire was brought under control at 8.45pm.

Shortly before 5pm on Saturday firefighters were called to an abandoned vehicle in Felixstowe Road, Levington. One hose reel jet was used and the fire, which is believed to be suspicious, was brought under control at 5.09pm.

At 11.04am on Saturday a crew from Princes Street Station was called to a car fire on Marbled White Drive, in south west Ipswich.

Breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet was used. The blaze was brought under control at 11.10am.
