A woman who claims she was sexually assaulted by a former Ipswich man around two decades ago when she was a schoolgirl has denied making up the allegations.

Giving evidence st Ipswich Crown Court today (Wednesday) the alleged victim told a jury that everything she told police in a video recorded interview about what Mark Waterer had allegedly done to her was the truth.

The court has heard that Waterer, 56, of Church Lane, Little Stonham was arrested by police in April 2015 after the woman made allegations against him.

Waterer, formerly of Ipswich, has denied ten offences of indecent assault and three offences of indecency with a child in relation to two alleged victims.

The offences date back to the 1990’s.

Following his arrest Waterer denied having any sexual contact with one of the schoolgirls while she was under 16 but admitted having consensual sexual contact with her after her 16th birthday.

He denied having any sexual contact with the other alleged victim and said he was “gobsmacked” when he heard she had made allegations against him.

The trial continues.
