If you had one too many mince pies and are now feeling the strain, help is it hand with an award winning slimming class in Ipswich.

The classes are run by Ipswich ladies, Penny Brunning and Liz Torrie on behalf of Slimming World.

Penny has classes starting at 5.30pm on Wednesdays at St Augustine's Church Hall, Bucklesham Road, while Liz runs classed starting at 6.15pm on Wednesdays and 9.30am on Tuesdays at Chantry Clinic, Hawthorn Drive, Ipswich and The Conservative Club in Newton Road, Ipswich.

Recently Carol Twyman, who also manages slimming classes in the Ipswich area, met entertainer, Shane Ritchie, at the company's annual award ceremony celebrating the achievements of some of its 250,000 members.

Carol said: "We're looking forward to 2002 and meeting lots of new people to show them that losing weight doesn't have to be a struggle.

"It was very nice of Shane to praise us for something we like doing so much. He was amazed when we told him how many people in our class enjoy losing weight."
