Passengers travelling out of Woodbridge can expect the machine to be dispensing tickets in the next few days. The installation follows relocation of the town’s tourist information centre, with tickets no longer available in advance unless bought online.

Residents, traders and local councillors gathered to greet the installation, including Caroline Page, Woodbridge county councillor, who campaigned against the closure of the TIC, and deputy mayor Patti Mulcahy, who also supported the machine’s introduction at the station.

Greater Anglia said it was also installing machines at Beccles and Saxmundham stations. It worked in partnership on the scheme with Suffolk County Council, which contributed towards funding, and MP Therese Coffey, who added: “After pressing the chief executive of Greater Anglia last year for a ticket machine in Woodbridge, I am delighted it has now been installed.”
