Shuck in Shore will be celebrating shellfish, fish and fishermen in art at Artspace Woodbridge.

The exhibition is being organised by Louise Sant and Claire Fried who have curating the exhibition to coincide with the Shuck Festival.

From oil paintings to jewellery and ceramics to photographs, the exhibition, which opened today, will showcase the works of 11 artists who have all produced pieces along the themes of the Shuck.

Among the artists taking part are Sarah Baddon Price, Peter Beeson, Sally Crawley, Claire Fried, Kate Giles, Gill Moon, Kate Reynolds, Audrey Sant, Louise Sant, Rachel Shohet and Annie Turner.

“It’s looking very calm and peaceful,” said Louise Sant, one of the organisers, “It’s very exciting.”

She said it was on the first time that the gallery had held an exhibition where all those involved had showcased work on a particular theme.

As well as having a watery theme to the pieces themselves, coral and shells have been used to help present some of the pieces. Shuck Inshore will continue until September 26 at Artspace Woodbridge on the Thoroughfare.
