A young boy riding a bike was injured after a collision with a silver BMW in Felixstowe on Sunday.
The boy, believed to be 10, was not seriously hurt after the crash in Convalescent Hill at 5.35pm, police said.
He was taken to Ipswich Hospital by land ambulance.
Officers attended the scene and the driver of the BMW was arrested on suspicion of driving with excess alcohol. He was in police custody on Sunday night.
