A girl between the age of 10 and 12 was sexually assaulted by a man while they travelled on a bus.

The perpetrator sat next to the young victim and stroked her thigh and pinched her bottom, police said.

The attack happened between 3.20pm and 3.35pm on Thursday, February 23 on a bus heading in the Bramford direction.

The man is reported to have boarded the number 88 bus at Old Ipswich Road in Claydon and took a seat next to the girl before touching her inappropriately.

He is described as white, between 40 and 60 years old and was wearing a green jumper, green camouflage trousers and a black beanie hat.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk Constabulary said the girl was between the age of 10 and 12.

She added: “Detectives would like to hear from anyone who may have seen anyone matching this description in the area around the time stated, or witnesses on the bus who may have information to assist the investigation.”
