Two young men who were suspected of being involved with drugs have lost more than £4,000 which police found them in possession of.

Neither Abbas Uddin, of Nansen Road, Ipswich, nor David Foulkes, of Beatty Road, Ipswich, were present at the town’s magistrates’ court to oppose an application to forfeit the seized cash.

The total amount involved was £4,200.

Andy Owens, representing the Eastern Regional Special Operations Unit (ERSOU), said on October 22 three males who were getting into a BMW in Ipswich were stopped by officers. Foulkes indicated he had £600 in his tracksuit bottoms.

The trio were arrested on suspicion of being involved with Class A drugs, the court was told.

As the inquiry progressed more money was found.

Mr Owens said Uddin had been the subject of two previous proceeds of crime hearings. Magistrates granted the application to the forfeiture of the £4,200,
