Youngsters from Year 3 and Year 4 have been rehearsing The Button Box – a play about a group of youngsters who find a box of buttons while staying with their grandparents, with each button holding a back story.

The children are learning their lines and preparing dance routines for performances on March 27 and 28 which will be the school’s first production in a professional space.

Year 4 teacher Emma Garnham said: “It’s a great privilege – not many children have come to an environment like this, so coming in was a complete amazement.”

Performer Holly Hodgson, eight, said: “It’s really different because our stage at school is so tiny, so it’s very overwhelming. It’s a very good experience for all of us because we have never had this chance.”
