Yum Yums Cookery School, a nonprofit community organisation which runs cookery classes at four primary schools in the north-west Ipswich area, was given £500 from the North West Ipswich Big Local Trust fund.

The news was celebrated at Whitehouse Community Primary School in Marlow Road.

Yum Yums Cookery School director Emma Youngman said: “We are absolutely thrilled. The funding will allow us to buy mobile ovens so that we don’t have to keep using school kitchens.

“We aim to teach children the importance of healthy eating and get them to experiment with a wide range of food.”
