PETROL prices have risen again around Ipswich, The Evening Star's price check showed today.

Last week it was possible for drivers to fill up at the pump for 115.9p for a litre of unleaded petrol.

This week the cheapest option is a penny dearer, at 116.9p.

Prices also climbed for a litre of diesel too, with the cheapest costing 130.9p today, rather than 129.9p last week.

The highest price around Ipswich for unleaded has stayed at 119.9p and the highest for diesel is 133.9p - also the same as last week.

The Evening Star is committed to showing readers every week where the cheapest petrol is available to help save money.

The rising fuel costs are hitting motorists so hard that some are running out of petrol while on the roads, a survey by breakdown company Britannia Rescue found.

The company said that in the last three months, 340,000 drivers have suffered a breakdown due to running out of fuel - ten per cent more than the same period last year.
