Ipswich Town captain Sam Morsy scored his first ever Premier League goal at Southampton on Saturday to join an exclusive list of players to net in each of the top four leagues in English football.
Morsy netted a 95th minute equaliser to snatch Kieran McKenna's side a point at St Mary's -so let's take a look at his journey of bagging goals from League Two all the way up to the Premier League...
LEAGUE TWO
The first goals of his senior career were for Port Vale in the fourth tier, where he notched four goals for the Valiants after progressing through their academy and helped them win promotion to League One. His first-ever goal came against Stevenage all the way back in February 2011.
Morsy dropped back down to sign for Chesterfield from Vale, where he netted once as he added another promotion up to the third tier in his first season.
LEAGUE ONE
The midfielder scored seven goals for Ipswich at this level, helping the Blues win promotion back to the Championship in 2022/23.
He has also notched six for the Spireites in the third tier, before moving on to Wigan, where he also netted six goals for the Latics as he helped them win the League One title twice.
CHAMPIONSHIP
Morsy found the net at this level for Wigan first, scoring five times, before heading to Middlesbrough and notching one goal.
He scored three goals for Town last season as he captained the side to back-back promotions.
PREMIER LEAGUE
The 33-year-old completed the four league scoring feat when he slammed home his first top flight goal to secure a vital away point for the Blues on Saturday.
He follows in the footsteps of Ted Phillips, Jimmy Leadbetter, and John Elsworthy to score in each of the top three leagues for Ipswich. He is the first Town captain to do so.
The Egyptian isn't the only player in this squad who made history in the early stages of this season - Sammie Szmodics' early goal at Man City means he's netted all the way from the FIFTH tier up to the top flight!
ELITE COMPANY
The other players to have scored in all four leagues are:
- Billy Sharp
- Steve Claridge
- Jimmy Wallis
- Gary Hooper
- John Lundstrum
- Steve Finnan
- Rob Earnshaw
- Sammie Szmodics
