THREE pupils from a Woodbridge school have been selected to join elite training sessions organised by Guinness Premiership side Northampton Saints.
Tom Innes, Calum Andrews and James Bellhouse from The Abbey School have been identified as potential stars of the future and will join up with the Saints academy, who run training sessions at Bury St Edmunds Rugby Club every Monday evening.
The talented trio have all starred for the school's under-11A side, which enjoyed an unbeaten autumn term for the second successive year and Bellhouse recently played in a victorious Saints junior team against a prep school Barbarian team.
“We are very pleased because it's the first professional club that have come to us to ask what we do,” said head of Sport at the school, Robert Earl.
“Hopefully, we can continue to build a relationship with them and give our pupils the chance to impress.
“The under-11 side has done brilliantly again this season and obviously the three lads have stood out within that. It's certainly exciting for them.”
