Football: Suffolk Senior Cup. Achilles 1, Leiston St Margarets 0.

THIS match was like the weather, dull, wet and uninteresting. Both sides are struggling this season. Achilles, before this game, just two wins from nine matches. Leiston St Margarets have now played 10 and lost the lot.

It could have been so different for Leiston as early as the first minute, they won a corner from which Simon Ford's header beat goalkeeper Richards but Alan Anderson headed off the line. Then Jonathan Hall saw his shot well saved by Richards. Leiston faced a mountain to climb after just 12 minutes when Jonathan Hall let himself and his team down by being sent off for dissent. Richard Barber then saved Achilles clearing a shot away from an open goal. Achilles best chance saw Owen Symmonds six-yards out, sent his weak header into Walker's arms.

Things were no better in the second half but gradually Achilles took control as the 10 men tired. Richard Barber then crossed to Ben Taylor in the 75th minute for Taylor to head by Walker to see Achilles into the next round.
