Achilles 1 Stanton 0
DESPITE having to play second best to a good Stanton side for most of the match it was Achilles who took the points in this middle-of-the-table clash.
The winning goal after ten minutes was the highlight of a scrappy game with Coote making a 30-yard run, shaking off the attention of three defenders to beat the keeper with a low shot from inside the box.
The visitors controlled the midfield for most of the half, but all of the attacks fell down on the edge of the Achilles box.
With the visitors looking for the equaliser Achilles enjoyed their best spell in the final quarter with Deller and Barber both missing scoring chances, volleying wide with only the keeper to beat. In injury time Stanton were reduced to 10 men when Musgrove was red-carded for offensive remarks to the referee's assistant.
