WITH neither side in this local derby having anything to play for this was a typical end of season game which flowed from end to end with very few chances. Bryant and Richards going close for Newton with Moye, Morling and Taylor for Stonham.

Play continued even in the second half until the 80th minute when Hayward scored with a firm header to put Old Newton ahead giving Lay no chance.

Six minutes later Flatman half volleyed a shot past Lambert to equalise to end the game all square.
