PARKSIDE United celebrated their 25th anniversary in style by winning the Peel Cup with a 3-1 victory over Halesworth Town at Notcutt's Park, Woodbridge.
It was a notable achievement by the Metaltec SIL club, who beat fellow Third Division Tacket Street OB 4-2, Intermediate A Crane Sports 2-1 and Division One Needham Market A 2-0 to get to the final.
Ricky O'Neil scored twice in the final against Second Division opposition, with the Third Division's highest scorer Andy Richards netting the other goal.
Club captain Peter Lenney said: “Thanks must go to Scott and Tracey at the Brickmakers Arms and to supporters, players and officials who helped mark this special occasion.
“Garry Overton deserves a special mention as he is player, secretary and supporter.”
Parkside were the lowest placed team to enter the competition and this was only their fourth final - the other three were in the Ross Taylor Cup with one win and two defeats.
