TABLE TENNIS: With the start of the new table tennis season, the Suffolk County Table Tennis Association has released its new ranking list. In the Senior mens list there is plenty of movement.

WITH the start of the new table tennis season, the Suffolk County Table Tennis Association has released its new ranking list.

In the Senior mens list there is plenty of movement. Lee Balaam who after getting over 90 per cent in the Bury St Edmunds League moves up to five, while Suffolk mens singles finalist Andrew Warner moves up to number six.

Another mover is Andrew Holmes who, after retaining his Suffolk veterans singles title and losing just two games all season in the Ipswich League, moves up a number of places.

Probably the most deserving mover is Charles Fulcher, now up to four after a number of very good seasons.

There is a also a new name on the ranking list as Suffolk Mens singles semi-finalist and restricted winner John Tallent appears for the first time.

In the women's list Rebecca Sparkes retains her number one spot, while Vicky Gray deservedly moves up to number two after a number of successes in the county weekend matches last season. Aimee Sparkes and Claire Emmerson are at three and four respectively.

The women's list appears very healthy and with Suffolk singles winner Sandra Balaam at number six this is a strong indication of the strength in depth here.

Elsewhere after a terrific season Lee Barnes has moved up to number one on the junior list following recent trials.
