ITALIAN giants AC Milan have confirmed that they are bidding to sign superstar David Beckham on loan.

The iconic ex-England captain finishes the Major League Soccer season with the LA Galaxy on Sunday and is known to be keen to keep his match sharpness in a bid to retain his place in the national team.

And Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani today stated his confidence that Beckham will arrive at the San Siro, however it is understood the 33-year-old has not yet committed to the deal.

But Galliani said that Beckham will be invited to train with the squad and it seems that he will sign a short-term deal in January.

Milan head coach Carlo Ancelotti backed the move, saying it would be a “pleasure” to work with Beckham, whom he described as a “serious athlete, a great professional.”

The news comes after Ipswich Town boss Jim Magilton last year invited Beckham to train with his squad to keep his fitness and sharpness.
