Bramford United 3 Achilles 0

IN the previous four or five fixtures Bramford had outplayed the opposition only to concede late goals and points. But on Saturday every member of the squad were really fired and they took this attitude onto the pitch.

Although Achilles had two early chances neither created any problems for the Bramford goalkeeper. Bramford had the best possible start when Taylor fired home from the edge of the box. Ditcham broke through the Achilles rear guard but his cross was not converted.

Barber then latched onto Crowley's pass but he centred when perhaps a shot on goal would have been the better option. This rather tense local derby came to life as a number of very heavy challenges by both sides ended with two players going into the refs book.

Bramford increased their lead when Burman's precise pass found Brown who coolly lobbed the keeper. A header from Childs from a corner and a snap shot from Deller were the only worthwhile chances of the half for Achilles.

A three man move between Innis who then released Brown whose square ball was seized upon by Burman who then gave Richards the Achilles keeper no chance from the edge of the box. Achilles had the better of the latter exchanged but the resolute Bramford defence held firm.
