FORMER Ipswich Town manager George Burley, who returned to his old club on Saturday, will be back at Portman Road in a month's time for an FA Cup third-round tie.

Town have been drawn at home to fellow Division One club Derby County, having already taken four points from the two league meetings with Burley's boys this season.

Joe Royle's men followed up a 2-2 draw at Pride Park with a 2-1 win on Saturday. Royle sees this third meeting of the two teams, within the space of a couple of months, as a chance to tinker with his side.

"I see this cup tie as a chance to give one or two players a game, who have not been regulars," explained the Town boss last night.

"Of course we will be treating the FA Cup very seriously. It's very important for the club financially, but I am planning to make one or two changes. We know all about Derby, having played them twice recently.

"I thought we deserved to win on Saturday. Derby are improving all the time, but then so are we. All you can ask for, of a cup draw, is to get a home match. It should be close, but we have nothing to fear."

Colchester United were hoping for a glamorous tie after reaching the third round of the FA Cup for the first time in eight years, following Saturday's 1-0 win over Aldershot Town.

But instead, the U's have an away match at either Division Two high-fliers Bournemouth or Conference dwellers Accrington Stanley.

Norwich City, second in Division One, face a tough away trip at Premiership side Everton, while Cambridge United, if they can overcome Macclesfield in a second round replay, will be at Swansea City in round three.
