A STRONG wind and rock hard pitch made conditions very difficult but both sides stuck to their task for 19 minutes. Stonham took the lead when Gavin Brown ran through a series of half hearted challenges to score at the second attempt in the 12th minute.

Busey missed a great opportunity to equalise when presented with the ball by Stonham keeper Lay as Stonham looked to add to their score with a confident first half display.

But Capel drew level when Saker headed in a perfect cross from Knights at the far post in the 40th minute. They put more pressure on after the break to go ahead against through Saker who scored from an inswinging corner from King in the 60th minute.

Theobald and Morling had the best chances for Stonham who lost veteran striker Bennett with a back injury. Saker was inches out when his goalbound effort was deflected for a corner and Capel worked hard to hang on to their slim lead.
