HUNDREDS of the leading junior runners in the county converged on Royal Hospital School in Holbrook on Saturday, to take part in the Suffolk Schools Series “A” Cross Country Championships.
The course was very testing, with conditions particularly muddy down by the waterfront. There were seven races, from minor through to the senior age groups. Runners and spectators alike also had to brave a cold, biting wind.
Among the highlights was an impressive victory for Beyton's Adam Seymour, who followed up his recent win at the West Suffolk Middle Schools event at Nowton Park, by winning the minor boys' age group.
The Series “B” Championships will take place at Framlingham on Wednesday, January 14, after which teams will be selected for the Anglian Schools event and the English Schools Championships.
