JASON De Vos today revealed the part former Ipswich Town stalwart Terry Butcher has played in shaping his career.
The Canadian international decided to move to the Scottish Premier League with Dundee United seven years ago partly because Butcher was on the Tannadice coaching staff at the time.
“Terry was one of my football heroes when I used to watch England international and top flight league games on television,” said central defender De Vos.
“So when I had a chance to be coached by him I jumped at it - and Terry did not disappoint.
“He is a great coach and a great guy.”
