DEBEN Swimming Club's Alice Tennant had an amazing weekend at the Youth Regionals, achieving a place in seven finals. Tennant capped off her success with an exceptional second place in the 50m freestyle final.

Tennant capped off her success with an exceptional second place in the 50m freestyle final.

Well represented in Norwich, Tennant was joined over the weekend by fellow Deben swimmers Fenella Foskett, Emily Prior, Bryony Henry, Matthew Naunton, Will Meadows, Michael Pugh and Ben Davies.

Foskett also had an excellent weekend with a strong performance and third position in the 200m freestyle final, while she also achieved personal bests in all of her swims.

There was a superb performance from the Deben girls in the 200m individual medley final, with the three Deben swimmers of Tennant, Emily Prior and Foskett competing.

The boys too were well represented, with Will Meadows, competing in his first Regionals, having a very successful 50m breaststroke.

There was a superb performance from Michael Pugh in the 200 individual medley, who came seventh after competing at an athletics event all day Saturday in winning style for Ipswich Air Training Corps.

Matthew Naunton also performed strongly during the weekend and finished fifth in the 50m breaststroke final.
