CORNARD United's decision to arrange a Wednesday afternoon kick-off time for last week's home Ridgeons League First Division game with Long Melford certainly paid off.
Manager/secretary/treasurer/groundsman Chris Symes was able to manage a smile despite Cornard's 4-1 defeat.
The attendance of 201 swelled the club's coffers and was much higher than the 39 that turned up on Saturday for the match against league leaders Swaffham Town.
