SUFFOLK'S Keith Deller lost 10-4 to the Canadian John Part in the World Matchplay Darts Championship first round at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool.

Double trouble cost the former Embassy word champion who was once an Ipswich Town ballboy.

He was averaging over 90 at one stage and finished with an 88 average. But could not make it count on the doubles.

Deller, who will now work for Sky Sports over the rest of the tournament, said: "It's disappointing as I've been a bit of a bogey player for John for some time and beat him in the final of the Eastbourne Open earlier this year. He took his chances and I didn't. That's the way it goes."
