Britannia Eagles continue to dominate the Premier Division of the Ipswich & District League as they lead the rest of the pack by 27 points.Against Ipswich Hospitals they won 9-1 but Hospitals were without John Tallent and only Dave Halliday recorded a win which was over Andrew Holmes.

In their last match at home to Rosary Red Eagles won 8-2 with Andrerw Dosher and Holmes beating Andrew Warner in three sets. Warner secured a win over Rex Manning and accompanied Graham Martin to win the doubles.

St Margaret's are still second and lead Hospitals by four points but have a game in hand, Claydon are five points behind St Margaret's with a game in hand.

It is even more intresting as to what is happening at the bottom of the table. Ipswich Sports have been struggling to get a team this year and have amassed just 13 points all season. In their most recent games they went down 9-1 to Claydon B and 10-0 to Hospitals.

Fourteen points above them are Sidegate Lane on 27 points and they have a game in hand on both Helmingham and Electric Asteroids (both with 28 points).

Claydon B, who are just above the bottom four, played another team who are just clear of the struggling pack Trimley A and the outcome was a 5-5 draw,

Chris Ashton showed his class for Claydon with a maximum including the scalp of Martin Bozier. Trimley, though, defeated Helmingham Hornets 6-4 with Bozier winning three for Trimley while for Hornets Graham Goodwin and David Gaught won two each.

Asteroids should be too strong for relegation but were convincingly thumped by the other Britannia side, Flamingos 9-1. Britannia had both Ian Brown and Aimee Sparkes unbeaten. Ashely Phillips accounted for Clare Lowe.

Against Helmingham they did better, winning 6-4. Phillips secured all three on the night and was backed by Phil Watts with two.

In the First Division Norbridge Crane are a massive 34 points ahead of Suffolk County Council and looked to have sown the title up already.

Their last match against Telecom Ansons it was a close call as Norbridge just scrapped home 6-4. Mark Thorpe was the home hero winning his three against Barry Stuckey, Jack Perkins and Joe Royle.

Second place SCC could only manage a 5-5 draw with Willis as Kevin Gooding won his three backed by John Seabrook on two. Rosemary Bullock contributed two for Willis.

Elsewhere third place Lloyds Bank won 9-1 away at bottom place Capel where Graham Mortimer was the sole winner for the home side, Brian Page and John Leith took maximums.

Second place EADT improved their plight with a 6-4 win over Rosary Rockets. Simon Wadsworth won three for EADT.

The Second Division sees Britannia Ravens on top with 54 points – five points ahead of Norbridge C.

Ravens have swep opposition aside in their last four matches. Richard Clapson shone with three wins in their 8-2 win over mid-table ISC B and repeated this over Telecom Kites along with A Peyman.

They also saw off Hospitals D 9-1 with A Leveridge and Peyman winning three. M Trinder was a solitary victor for Hospitals over Mathew Holland.

Against SCC B only Alan Pearce recorded wins for the home side over Holland and Peyman in another 8-2 win for Ravens. Norbridge C are close behind and defeated St Margarets C 8-2. Malcolm Collins recorded a maximum for the home side while Peter White for the Saints beat Dave Hindle and S Nichol.

St Margaret's B did slightly better against Norbridge, losing 6-4. Former Premier player Greg Barnes won his three over Hindle Chapman and Collins.

Third place Hospitals B defeated Telecom Fulmers 9-1 away. Only Doug Bliss managed a win for Telecom over Brian Pulham as Shaun Gridley and K Halliwell won their three games.

Port of Felixstowe defeated Telecom Kites 6-4. J Ramsden won all three, and Capel B, chasing the pack at the top, beat Trimley C 8-2, Mark Lewis and K Larking winning their three!

Mallards showed real class against third-placed Hospitals C, winning 8-2. K Potter and R Gooderham scored maximums. Electric Novas were beaten 9-1. Potter and Goodham repeated their earlier success as Gordon Elliott for Novas was their solitary win.

Norbridge Mallards, keeping up the chase, beat Lloyds Colts C 8-2 with Dave Aldous winning his three. They also beat SCC C 7-3 at home. Bruce Jennings with three and match secretary Tony Heath with two were among the home scorers, while for the away side R Wood, C Copping and D Steggals all won one each.

Woodbridge were downed 7-3 by Kingsfleet at home. C Rowley and J Cope won three each for the visitors. Woodbridge did better in their next two games beating Rosary Blue 7-3 and Britannia Blackbirds 9-1, though they were gifted three against Rosary. A Edwards won all his matches and against the Blackbirds Danny Pullen was in fine form winning all his matches.

Division Four sees Britannia Merlins at the top on 54 points, three ahead of fellow club team the Swifts but have played two games less.

Swifts recently beat Electric Rebels 8-2 as L Smith with three and Pete Keeble with two helped the cause. Rebels responded with two from M Corrie.

The Rebels bounced back, scoring a 5-5 draw against Claydon Badgers with Corrie again on form winning his games. S Bond and D Atkins scored two each for the Badgers. Britannia Larks beat Norbridge C 9-1. D Lilley and N Barnes were unbeaten.

Telecom Defiants defeated Ransomes B 7-3 and had A Chattell and Les Broom unbeaten, while fellow team mates Javelins went down 7-3 at Britannia Avocets. C Harper won all his matches for the Britannia side but was helped by their opponents conceding three!
