DISS youngster Elliott Page has been selected in the England Elite under-19 Colleges side to face Wales on Sunday, February 14.

The 19-year-old second row from Thorndon, came through several trial matches playing for the eastern region before getting down to the final selection process in Bristol at the end of last month.

Page, who plays for Diss first XV, showed enough to warrant a place in the Elite squad and hopes to be able to catch the eye of the watching Guinness Premiership scouts.

“I've really come on as a rugby player at Diss. Playing with more experienced pros has certainly made me a better player and it's nice to be recognised.

“I didn't want to go all the way up to Bristol for the last trial and not get in! It's really exciting and hopefully I can get picked up by a club - Harlequins would be my first choice as that's who I support but it would be great to get picked up by anyone.”

We will be keeping an eye out to see how Elliott gets on over the coming weeks.
