England have missed out on a place in the final of the Rabobank Hockey World Cup after losing 1-0 to host country Holland this afternoon.
Mink van der Weerden’s deflected penalty corner five minutes before half-time was all that separated the teams in The Hague.
This was England’s fifth semi-final defeat since being crowned 2009 European champions in 2009.
The England squad which included former Ipswich School pupils Harry Martin and George Pinner, will face face Australia or Argentina in the third/fourth place play-off on Sunday.
