THIS defeat saw Felixstowe & Walton drop into bottom place in the table with Swaffham beating Dereham.
They failed to score for the seventh successive league game and in the end paid the ultimate penalty.
Felixstowe controlled the play from the outset and they should have been ahead in the 13th minute but Howard headed inches wide at the far post after Fuller had headed Crump's cross back into the danger area.
Stowmarket began to look dangerous with substitute Bryant adding pace to their attack and Jopling struck the Felixstowe bar in the 63rd minute.
Stowmarket's second substitution proved to be the vital move of the game with Ratcliffe coming on in the 71st minute and 11 minutes later hitting a glorious winner from a 30-yard free-kick that beat Charters high to his left to leave Felixstowe's Premiership life hanging by a thread.
