Felixstowe 1 Ipswich Wanderers 3

FELIXSTOWE let a half-time advantage slip as the visitors took control after the break to climb above their neighbours in the relegation battle at the foot of the Premier Division table.

A dour first half produced little flowing football from either side although Felixstowe & Walton edged it in terms of possession.

They took a single-goal lead into the break when Fuller produced an excellent finish on the turn as he connected with Knights' long throw on the edge of the area in the 41st minute.

The second half saw Wanderers looking by far the more determined and purposeful side and when they equalised in the 65th minute with a fortunate goal they always looked the more likely side to go on and win the game.

The equalising goal came as the visitors worked an opening on the right but Hetherington's shot looked to be drifting wide of Charters' post until it took a wicked deflection off Barker to nestle in the bottom corner of the net.

If the equaliser had an element of luck about it that wasn't the case nine minutes later.

With the home side struggling to put any passing movements together they lost possession in midfield and Charters did well to turn away Howell's shot for a corner.

From the flag-kick Felixstowe and Walton again failed to clear the danger and Bell chipped the ball back into the danger area for Head to send a glancing header beyond Charters.

Wanderers were in almost total control from that point and with the home side guilty of giving the ball away cheaply they were made to pay dearly in the 82nd minute as they lost possession on the edge of their own area.

Lowe sent an unstoppable rising volley high into the net from the edge of the area to secure a hugely important win for his side.
