Credit was due to marshals, first aiders and officials, who made sure that a complete block of racing was completed.

Mark Pearson led the Quad Eastern Championship race from start to finish, surprisingly, he coped with the conditions admirably. Greg Fisher was second, and clinched the 2008 Championships, whilst former champion, Richard Rackham, took third place, well clear of fourth placed Shaun Playford.

Danny Haskett's third place in the NGR Over 30's race was enough to win the title. His nearest rival, Darren Murfitt, easily won the race after passing early leader, Lee Keyton, who also enjoyed the muddy conditions and took third place in the series. David Lockwood legged his way to fourth, and fourth in the final standings, with John Palfrey fifth, followed by veteran Dave Whitehead, who held second place for a while, but slipped to sixth at the finish.

In the support races, Ipswich teenager, James Cottrell, led throughout, but a fall at the end of the last lap saw Andrew Greeney taking the win. Cottrell was second, from Matt White and Ben Talbot, who also fell on the last lap when holding third place.

As the conditions worsened, Matt White raced to victory before it was decided to put an end to the proceedings.

Dave Whitehead was second in the final race, using all of his experience to hold off Ben Houchen and Adam Braithwaite.

In the marquee afterwards, the NGR silverware and presentations took place, as Lyn and Ian Berwick bade farewell to the well supported NGR riders.

After organising the NGR events for many years, its now time for handing the reins over, and NGR stalwart, Dave Watson, is believed to have volunteered to run the next instalment of this popular Eastern series.
