EAST Bergholt player manager Ian Gedny will be presented with his Evening Star Trophy for finishing the season as top goalscorer at the Metaltec SIL league presentation evening on Friday May 31.
Gedny has finally ended the monopoly of the award from the Grundisburgh pairing of Martin Cotton and Julian Beaumont who had won the award in eight out of the previous nine seasons.
The awards evening at the County Hotel, London Road, Copdock will also see the presentations of three other trophies. Capel Plough's Paul Knight will receive the A.J Pells Trophy for being top goalscorer in the Intermediate divisions. Ipswich Exiles' Pietro Cosenza scored the most goals in divisions one to three and will collect the W.Snook Trophy while the Bob Coleman trophy will go to Dennington's Colin Taylor for scoring the most in divisions four to seven.
