ENGLAND'S Steven Gerrard admits England must be more ruthless if they are to win the World Cup.
After taking an early lead against Paraguay on Saturday, England struggled to finish off their South American opponents before wilting in the heat in Frankfurt.
Gerrard said: "We've got to learn to go on and get two or three to kill teams off and make it easier towards the end.
"We had high intensity in the first half but it was so difficult to do it for 90 minutes. It's impossible.
"After five minutes the heat starts to take control and it was really difficult towards the end."
