Ipswich-based Grasshoppers Ladies have clinched promotion to the Suffolk Indoor Premier Division.

Led by Micalya Tootill, who played in the National indoor finals as a 16-year old, the team ended the season with an impressive 4-1 victory against Bury and a 2-1 victory over Ipswich.

They ended their campaign with a perfect record, having secured eight wins from eight, scoring 25 and conceding just six.

“Captaining the side has been a privilege and I cannot wait to start and test ourselves against the best teams in Suffolk next year,” said Tootill

As for the B team, the remit is to develop the club’s younger players, who have been playing alongside a smattering of older heads this season.

Head coach Laura Quinn says “This season was about getting players experience, and with every game that has passed the players have got better and better. I couldn’t be prouder, and I can’t wait for next season to start.”

Grasshoppers are recruiting and next year they will be entering three indoor teams (A team, B team and U18’s sides) and two winter hockey teams.

Head coach Laura Quinn will be there providing coaching and a mixture of squad players will be along supporting too on Fridays, from April 25 April at Gainsborough Sports Center (7pm-8pm).
