VANESSA Bell, the Ipswich-based ladies' golf professional, finished tied 24th in the Pam Golding Ladies' International Champion-ship at the Dainfern County Club in Johannesburg.
There were 93 in the field.
An opening round of level par 73 was followed by 76 and a final round of 73 on course designed by Gary Player and opened in 1991.
“I struggled a bit with the putting,” said Vanessa. “The greens had quite a lot of subtle breaks which I found hard to read along with the grain. It is so hot here. I think I drink about four litres of water every round.”
Vanessa's second event proved less rewarding. Although she made the cut, she ended in 58th place after rounds of 77 79 and 80 at Waterkloof Golf Club in Pretoria.
