CRICKET: THERE is no doubt Suffolk missed the all-round skills of Ian Graham during their Minor Counties Championship defeat against Northumberland at Sidegate Avenue, Ipswich this week.
THERE is no doubt Suffolk missed the all-round skills of Ian Graham during their Minor Counties Championship defeat against Northumberland at Sidegate Avenue, Ipswich this week.
Graham, who lives and plays his club cricket in Nottingham, has been
available all season and a number of whirlwind innings – mainly in the one-day game – have caught the attention of the England Cricket Board selectors.
Graham played against the West Indies Under-19s at Hastings on Sunday scoring five runs when
batting number three and then
bowling five economical overs in a match that the ECB side won.
He is now hoping to be included in the ECB side that will play against Scotland, Wales and Ireland in the Triple Crown tournament that takes place at Brighton from August 13 to 16.
"I enjoyed it and did OK," said Ian. "But I would have liked to have done better and am banking on the
selectors taking into account my Suffolk form this summer."
