SIL Champions Grundisburgh took on Border League premier league winners West Bergholt in an interesting pre-season friendly at the Playing Field.

The Essex side made the early running and took the lead on 38 minutes with a well-worked four man move that split the Grundisburgh defence.

Grundisburgh were level on 53 minutes when Kenyon was quickest to react to net from eight yards after the ball had come back off the crossbar.

Grundisburgh were defending well with Hatcher and Fitch outstanding and took the lead on 74 minutes following a great three man break, Bullock side-footing home at the back post.

Beaumont increased the Grundisburgh lead on 88 minutes when he dispatched the penalty kick.
