MELTON'S deserved victory probably put paid to any chances Grundisburgh had of winning the Senior Division this season.

The home side dominated the early exchanges with Brightey having to make two important saves notably from Leonard's header.

As the half hour approached Melton played some good passing football which Randall despatched to put them ahead.

Straight from the start of the second half Cook extended the home side's lead with a well-taken goal courtesy of Randall's cross.

Complacency crept in as Grundisburgh threw more players forward and were rewarded when Beaumont scored at the second attempt for as it turned out a consolation goal.

With the game almost over Cotton received his marching orders following an incident with Melton's Palmer.

Bramford 2 Walsham le Wilows 4

Walsham gained three more points towards their championship push when they beat Bramford United after a lively encounter at Acton Road.

The Walsham team had dominated the first half with some determined play. They went 2-0 up with goals from Partridge, who slotted the ball home after an excellent pass from Zarkos, and then M Moye, who coolly headed home after getting on the end of Smith's cross.

Walsham received a shock after the interval when Bramford rattled in two goals to level the scores. Clennell ran on to to a Potter pass beating his marker then placing the ball wide of the keeper, while the second came from Grimsey, who headed in a Ditcham left- flank free kick.

Walsham fought their way back in front again when a deflected clearance fell to T Musgrove who rifled the ball into the net.

The hard-working Smith added his team's fourth when he headed in a free kick. Bramford were reduced to ten men when Clennell was red-carded and at the end Potter thundered in a good effort which clipped the Walsham crossbar.
