Hadleigh’s Curtis Hammond has missed out on a place on the PDC (Professional Darts Corporation pro tour.

The 23-year-old lost in the first round of the final Q-School tournament, to Sean Ryan, 5-3, in Wigan.

Hammond needed to qualify for one semi-final from the four tournaments that were being held in the north west, or rack up enough Order of Merit points, to claim his card for the tour, which boasts the likes of Phil Taylor, Michael van Gerwen and Mendham’s Peter Wright.

Hammond, who only started playing the game five years ago at The George Pub, in Hadleigh, also lost to Michael Rasztovitz, Tomas Seyler and Daniel Astbury.
