THIS local derby produced a convincing win for Haughley who avenged a defeat by Stonham in October, the last occasion that the visitors had recorded a league victory.

Early Haughley pressure paid off when they went ahead in the 13th minute being gifted a goal by the Stonham defence, defenders allowed a low cross and Kidd to reach Powell, who tapped home from two yards.

Haughley increased their lead in the 25th minute when Thompson netted from the spot after Davenport had been bought down by a defender; the Stonham keeper being yellow carded for showing his displeasure at the decision.

In first half injury time, Moye missed an easy chance, which could have altered the course of the match, firing wide with only the keeper to beat. The Stonham attack showed more urgency after the break, a well-struck shot from Moye being saved by keeper Clarke with Taylor latching on to the rebound, his goalbound shot being cleared by a defender. Haughley put the game out of Stonham's reach in the 63rd minute with Noller netting following a good run and pass by Stevens.
