It was Brighton who ended up celebrating at the Withdean Stadium when the 1-1 scoreline ensured the home team would survive relegation while Town are left to negotiate the minefield that is the play-offs if they are to gain promotion to the Premiership.
Royle must now lift his players and get them on song for the battles against a Hammers side that beat Ipswich in the play-off semi-finals last season.
