IPSWICH Town player of the year Mark Venus has revealed that he is poised to rejoin the Blues' push for a First Division play-off place.
But another key defender, John McGreal, may still be three weeks away from a return to Joe Royle's squad.
Both players have been out with knee injuries – Venus for four weeks and McGreal for three.
Venus said today: "I've been back in training for a few days now and will be fit for selection soon. The team has been picking up some good results and it's been great to see.
"I damaged my knee in the Rotherham game and have been working hard to get it right. It will be great to be involved again. The boss may want me to get in a reserve game first. I just know that I'm feeling OK and will be stepping up the work in training this week."
