Ipswich East Suffolk Ladies 2 Crostyx 1

IPSWICH East Suffolk rose above the visitors' continual complaints over umpires' decisions to record a welcome victory in Division Two South of the Printwize East League.

The home side controlled the game with some neat passing and never panicked and Abigail Adams put them ahead from a well-worked short corner routine.

Crostyx immediately became rattled and started making mistakes, but although IES took advantage of this the visitors equalised before the interval.

The second half began with Crostyx attempting to put behind them their unsettled first half, but it was not too long before they saw their captain sent off for dissent.

IES continued to pass the ball cleanly and allowed the visitors to make the mistakes and again went ahead through Adams.

Another Crostyx player was then shown the yellow card and IES took full advantage by not allowing the visitors back into the game.

Wapping 0 IES Ladies 2

TWO first half goals from Abigail Adams, which took her weekend tally to four, saw IES safely through to the second round of the English Hockey Cup.

Arriving shortly before the start, IES had little time for preparation, but that counted for little as Adams scored twice, once from a confidently taken penalty to give them a comfortable advantage.

Although not at full strength, the visitors held on to their lead and contained Wapping to progress to the next round.
