A COMPANY based in Woolpit had a great launch venue for a new website for the National Association of Golf Club Stewards that encompasses golf clubs across the UK.

The official launch took place at the association's national chairman's champagne lunch at The Open at Muirfield and it was attended by some of the most important names in golf.

CNB.Co.Uk Ltd are providers of interactive websites to golf clubs mainly in East Anglia and the South East under the umbrella domain name www.club-noticeboard.co.uk.

The new website is part of an overall strategy to expand the "electronic newsletter" concept pioneered by the company.

Ian Duncan, the managing director, said: "The members of the associations are spread far and wide, and what we are providing is an online noticeboard so that they can communicate more effectively.

"This is a further development for using the internet to communicate to a local community wishing to receive relevant information similar to the way we are able to communicate information to golf club members at our local clubs."

The majority of golf club websites in Suffolk and a number in Norfolk are now managed by CNB.

In a further extension of the idea CNB are also about to launch a 60-page village website for Elswell in association with the local parish council to provide an online newsletter for the village. This website can be found at www.elmswellinfo.co.uk
