Tonight marks the 22nd year of Ipswich Amateur Boxing Club’s annual charity show and club stalwart Frannie Peake says the spectacle is as popular as ever.
A sell-out crowd will see more than a dozen bouts at the Cameo Hotel, Copdock, with club members Saul Woods, Magante Euller, Leaman Hillyard and Luke Booth all boxing.
Should the schedule remain unchanged, four heavyweight bouts will be held and Peake is hopeful of another quality evening of boxing.
“You always keep your fingers crossed for a good show but generally, people tend to have a good time and we raise money for charity in the process,” said Peake.
“We always sell out and the same people come back every year for tickets and hopefully they will see some good prospects again this year.
“All our lads have been doing quite well and we have got some good lads coming through.”
Doors open at 7pm with the boxing due to start at 8.30pm.
