Ipswich claimed all three points and with the win leaped over Dereham into third place in the Printwize East Premier League.

Ipswich could not have started any better when a fantastic sweeping move from defence culminated in Sarah Juggins finding Striker Lucy Philp, who finished with supreme coolness, placing the ball in the bottom left corner.

Dereham however were not despondent and a short corner routine saw them draw level just 10 minutes later.

With the score tied, the game became more intense and several tackles were worthy of a green card, but Ipswich dug in and when Karla Waddleton stepped up for a short-corner strike, Ipswich were hopeful of another special goal. Waddleton did not disappoint and her thunderous strike left the keeper with no chance.

Ipswich now had all the confidence and Dereham began to get frustrated. A nasty tackle on Ipswich midfielder Jane Cook went unpunished, but Ipswich would not be drawn into retribution knowing that, that was exactly what the Dereham player wanted.

The three points were finally in the bag when Cook latched on to a rebound from a short corner and coolly flicked the ball over the keeper.

This was an excellent display from an Ipswich side that at last is playing again with the belief and confidence that has been missing since Christmas. With second place still in their sights, there will be no let up against Anchorians next week.
