COVENTRY 2 IPSWICH TOWN 4
GLORIOUS Ipswich Town kept the pressure on the teams above them with a brilliant second half display that tore Coventry City apart.
What manager Joe Royle put into their half-time cup of tea will probably never be known, but it certainly worked as it transformed the visitors.
They looked second best for much of the opening period and when Dean Gordon put the Sky Blues two goals ahead in the 44th minute, the match looked over.
However, Town hit back with some of their best football of the season to double Coventry and keep alive their hopes of a play-off place.
Poor defending contributed to Coventry's goals, with Richard Naylor being replaced by Martijn Reuser after the interval.
Ipswich switched to 4-4-2 and although their first goal was a fortunate one, their three others were all well worked and well taken in a stunning exhibition of high-class football.
