AFTER winning last weeks game by only one goal, Ipswich needed to step up a gear to ensure another win. Ipswich travelled to Norfolk to play Norfolk United, a team they had never faced before.

Ipswich needed to go out hard attacking and defending well and did so gaining a lead early in the first quarter.

Norfolk's supporters were very vocal and gave the home team a lift; however Ipswich were ahead at the break 12-7.

In the second quarter the whole team applied good pressure on Norfolk United forcing them to make errors. H Martindill, who normally defends, shot well along with a good consistent display from L Rice and centre court support from A Gray and J Fison.

Great communication between C Martin and D Blake stopped the Norfolk shooters from scoring a number of goals and a number of inceptions from S Everett and A Gray allowed Ipswich to remain ahead 24-18 at half-time.

For the third quarter the coach, E Butterton made a change bringing on Y Ewers for S Everett and encouraged Ipswich to remain tight on defence.

Ipswich took a while to settle but fought hard to make a number of interceptions. At the end of the third quarter Ipswich were 10 goals to the good.

Ipswich knew that Norfolk would come out hard for the last quarter and scored three goals without reply cheered on by their loud supporters. At the final whistle Ipswich were victorious winning 47-40.

Squad: L Rice, H Martindill, J Fison, A Gray, S Everett, D Blake, C Martin, Y Ewers, S Holden.
